Alberta is home to the richest rich and the poorest poor in Canada - a situation attracting increasing analysis, concern and commentary. C4TF board member Diana Gibson is encouraged that Premier Alison Redford has kickstarted discussions on social policy. But in this recent opinion piece she has a warning: "A focus on poverty is certainly good, given the intensity of poverty in the province. However, if measures do not also address excess wealth at the top end, they will not be effective." We couldn't agree more.
