Canadians for Tax Fairness is co-sponsoring a public meeting in Halifax with Neil Brooks, co-author, along with Linda McQuaig, of The Trouble with Billionaires.
The event will take place on Thursday, December 8, beginning at 7 pm, at the Johanna B. Oosterveld Centre 2103 Gottingen Street (across from Palooka's Gym) in Halifax.
Neil will give a short presentation of some of the main points from his book, The Trouble with Billionaires (recently at #3 on The Globe and Mail bestseller list, now available in paperback) followed by a question-and-answer and discussion.
Inequality, unfair tax breaks for the wealthy, reductions in public services the increasing, unfairness and decreasing utility of our tax systems have recently become topics of public discussion across the country and around the world. The discussion has been organized by an informal group of concerned citizens in Halifax, who hope that this event will help to further the local dialogue.
