Canadians for Tax Fairness respects your privacy.

We do not collect personally identifiable information from individuals through our website or social media platform unless it is provided voluntarily and knowingly like on our e-newsletter subscription or donation forms.

Any and all personal information you voluntarily provide is protected under the provisions of Canada’s federal privacy legislation.

We do collect non-personal and aggregate information from our site and page visitors to understand whether our efforts to reach out and share information about Tax Fairness are successful and how we can improve.

We automatically log information about visits to our website in the normal course of establishing and maintaining web connections.

Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to analyze the use of C4TF’s website. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website traffic. The information generated relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of the website. Google will store this information. Social media platforms provide similar analytical tools to provide information about page or acount traffic, and their privacy policies are available on their platforms.

Cookies: Like most websites, ours uses "cookies" to obtain non-personal information from site visitors (small data files that your web browser places on your computer when you visit a website). Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you  can configure your browser to not to accept them or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Canadians for Tax Fairness does not extract personal information in this process, nor do we provide this information to third parties. Cookies allow us to speed up the navigation process and to make the website experience more efficient; they also help us measure the traffic on our website so that we can assess the effectiveness of our education and outreach efforts.

If you choose to provide personal information in order to sign up for our e-newsletter or make a donation online, we will only use that information as follows:

  • E-newsletter and other emails: Our e-newsletter and other emails are a way to share announcements regarding the work and helpful resources of Canadians for Tax Fairness. We occasionally ask subscribers to consider making a donation. If you do sign up for our e-newsletter, we will never share or disclose your email address to any third party.
  • Online Donors: If you make a donation to Canadians for Tax Fairness using our online form, your email address and credit card information will be handled with extreme confidentiality.

We care about securing your information. Canadians for Tax Fairness has taken steps to keep all information received from our online visitors as secure as possible against unauthorized access and use. All personal information you provide is stored in a secure database.
