Tracing Canada’s historical relationship with Commonwealth Caribbean nations back through the last half of the twentieth century, Deneault describes how the involvement of Canadian financiers in establishing and maintaining Caribbean tax havens predisposed Canada to become a tax haven itself, and resulted in problems beyond tax evasion and money laundering to include legal use of tax havens by large corporations.
